Director of Operations Kelley School of Business, Indiana University Bloomington, Indiana, United States
Accelerated master’s programs are gaining popularity as universities look to grow their master’s program offerings. The Kelley School of Business at Indiana University provides several 4+1 opportunities as well as a 3+2 MBA program. What makes the Kelley accelerated master’s programs unique is that they specifically provide opportunities for cross-degree study, allowing non-business students to add a one-year business degree to their liberal arts bachelors. This session explores how accelerated master’s programs can support students entering a new field of study by providing relevant academic support as well as experiential learning opportunities to aid students with their new career goals. This session will also look at marketing strategy and how to create a target audience for your accelerated master’s program.
Learning Objectives:
Progress attendees beyond the reduced-courseload tactical focus of accelerated master’s programs towards how accelerated master’s programs can support a wider applicant pool by bolstering the success of cross-degree students.
Provide real examples of how Kelley accelerated master’s students successfully complete STEM business degrees from a liberal arts background, both academically and on the job market.
Identify barriers for cross-degree students and how to develop bridges to overcome those barriers.
