Assistant Dean of Recruiting and Admissions Louisiana State University Baton Rouge, Louisiana, United States
In 2024, Clemson University Graduate Admissions piloted a performance-based admission option for the online MS in Computer Science through Coursera. This is the first performance-based admission option offered by the Clemson University Graduate School and the first time partnering with a third-party for-profit education platform. This session will review the complexities of implementing a large-scale project across multiple departments (online, admissions, registration, course development, financial aid, tuition benefits, etc.) and challenges and opportunities experienced throughout the implementation process. We will discuss how the application was set up in Slate and how we are driving inquiry to enrollment in just a few short clicks. You will hear from the Director of Graduate Admissions and Recruitment on strategies for implementation and “things I wish I knew” so you can be prepared to have the performance-based admission conversation with your campus leadership. We will answer the burning question on your mind…has it been successful? Come to the session to find out!
