Graduate Education Program Manager
The Ohio State University
Columbus, Ohio, United States
Kayla Kruse (MPA, MENR) is the Graduate Education Program Manager at the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences at The Ohio State University. In her role, Kayla provides strategic leadership and support for the college's 12 graduate programs. Her expertise encompasses recruitment, admissions, communications, career and professional development, student engagement, fellowship and funding opportunities, REU programs, and supporting staff and faculty throughout the graduate lifecycle. She works closely with these groups, as well as leadership, to promote high quality graduate education across the institution.
Passionate about student and faculty success, Kayla has spearheaded initiatives to improve graduate mentoring and faculty training. Over the last year and a half, Kayla developed an assessment of graduate advising for graduate students and advising faculty. This assessment has spurred development of new tools, resources, and processes to support positive graduate mentoring relationships at the institution. Perhaps more importantly, this has led to ongoing conversations about how faculty can support their students, and how the institution can best encourage faculty within their roles.
Kayla has been at Ohio State since 2016 and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, along with two Master's degrees in Environment and Natural Resources and Public Administration.
