Nicole Lounsbery, Ph.D., Director, Graduate School, South Dakota State University
Nicole Lounsbery has been working in higher education for over 17 years, with 13 years focused solely on graduate education. Nicole currently serves as Director of the Graduate School at South Dakota State University. Nicole’s role at SDSU involves managing Graduate School operations, which includes leading graduate enrollment management efforts, overseeing student matriculation and degree completion, developing and approving graduate curriculum, providing professional development and related student services. Nicole is a NAGAP member, has enjoyed serving as a NAGAP mentor and is currently a member of the DEI Committee. She is looking forward to continued involvement and exploring other service roles within the organization. Nicole has a Ph.D. in Sociology and currently teaches both graduate and undergraduate courses. She stays active in research and is the PI/Co-PI of multiple grants focused on increasing access to graduate education, collaboration with Tribal colleges and communities, and American Indian student success.
