Founded at the University of Michigan's English language institute in 1941, we have assessed English language ability for over 70 years and offer rigorous, secure exams.

We support international students and scholars with MET, the most affordable high-stakes English language proficiency exam. Offered in 180 countries with 5 day turnaround and one section retake, MET assesses critical communicative skills to ensure that your applicants are successful once they arrive on campus. MET assesses A2 to C1 - advanced beginner to proficiency on the CEFR scale.

Does your university offer advanced healthcare training? MET supports their journey, as it is approved by the US Department of Health and Human Services for occupational visas for nursing and allied health professions, and by 28 State Boards of Nursing for internationally trained nurses.
