Alexis W. Dothard is an experienced education professional who began her career as a high school teacher. Her passion for education and student success led her to transition into higher education, where she now serves as a Graduate Student Counselor at Rutgers University-New Brunswick, now (acting as the Assistant Dean for graduate students).
In partnership with the Dean of Student Services, Alexis manages graduate student affairs, overseeing the student life cycle. Her main responsibilities include providing academic support and guidance, facilitating referrals, and fostering community engagement to enhance student outcomes. Additionally, she oversees daily operations and implements strategic initiatives to improve processes, aligning her efforts with SC&I's strategic priorities and university-wide objectives.
Passionate about student retention, Alexis evaluates student needs and implements effective responses to drive improvements in educational outcomes. She is committed to creating an environment where graduate students are empowered to succeed.
